Pair of Brass Trumpets in the victory over Song Quao

From simple musical instruments, The pair of brass trumpets has become a symbol of courage and willdetermined to win. A pair of brass trumpets was captured by our soldiers from the enemy during a secret raid to destroy Cang Esepic stronghold on the night of December 28, 1951.

This pair of brass trumpets was used by the late musician Huy So to cheer up morale. unit's fighting in the raid to destroy Song Quao station on January 19, 1953. In the midst of the fierce battlefield smoke and fire, the sound of bronze trumpets sounded not only as a military command but also as a summons, giving spiritual strength to the brave soldiers. During the decisive moment of the battle, when "a series of explosive sounds of explosives, grenades, and submachine guns covered the battlefield. Sand, dust, bricks and stones flew, smoke and fire filled the air. Mixed with the explosions and screams of war, the war trumpet blown by the late musician Huy So from the command post rang out to urge" (History of Binh Thuan province's special forces (1952 - 1975), page 56).

With a courageous and cunning fighting spirit, the special forces and assault soldiers coordinated closely with nearly 200 guerrillas and civilians at Le Hong Phong Base to attack and destroy Song Quao station. As a result, our troops destroyed more than 1 enemy company, captured 30 people (including 3 French officers), captured 1 Screw-ke machine gun, 1 medium machine gun, 18 submachine guns, 120 rifles, 1 81 mm mortar, 5 radios and all of the enemy's military equipment and supplies; leveled the base, destroyed the Song Quao bridge, cut off enemy traffic.

The victory of Song Quao created a vibrant atmosphere in the hearts of our army and people. Happy victory, more than 2,000 compatriotsBoth Kinh and Thuong came to attend the music festival to congratulate the soldiers. The spirit of solidarity between the soldiers and people of all ethnicities was strengthened, the people actively supported the resistance, contributing to maintaining and developing the local guerrilla movement. The joy of victory spread everywhere, recorded through the lyrics of soldier and nurse Truong Quang My:

“Happy tournament tonight festival
Compatriots singing and singing instant

Sing that nineteen months gieng
Song Quao wins throughout the happy region say”

The pair of brass instruments was kept by the late musician Huy So during the years of resistance against the French colonialists and American imperialists, until after the country was unified. In 1996, the late musician Huy Sopresented a pair of brass instruments to the Binh Thuan Museum (now the Lam Dong Provincial Museum) to preserve and display to promote their value.

Today, come to the Binh Thuan Museum facility, look at the pair of brass instruments of the late musician Huy So solemnly displayed as historical witnesses, reminding us of a glorious time.
