With an area of ​​over 800m2, folk games are spread evenly in the cool pine hills, helping you have relaxing and comfortable moments when participating in the games.

Folk games on the Museum grounds are very rich, attractive, easy to operate, requiring only the agility and dexterity of participants, including the following games:

  • Throw con (toss con)

Nem Con (toss con) is a typical spring game of young men and women of many ethnic groups in the Northwest of Vietnam (especially the Tay, Nung, Thai).

The fruit is sewn with colorful fabric, into square segments like banh chung. Inside are paddy, rice, corn, and beans; weighs 0.2 to 0.3 kg. Connected to the umbilical cord of the shuttlecock is a fabric string 0.4 to 0.5m long, with colorful tassels. The player holds the end of the string and hits the shuttlecock in his hand, then releases the shuttlecock according to inertia to hit the target, which is a circle tied on a high pole.

Throwing is also an entertaining game for couples or groups of boys and girls to throw to each other to catch during spring festivals, meaning love and friendship. self.

  • Swinging

Swinging is a cultural - sports folk game, often organized on Tet or festivals of many ethnic groups in Vietnam and some Southeast Asian countries.

There are many types of swings, such as flying swings, bowl swings... On those days, villages often plant swings in the middle of fields or flat land near communal houses and pagodas. Usually, 1 man and 1 woman play on the swing. The two people step on the swing table, face each other, then bounce their feet, harmonizing in rhythm, creating a synergy of swings that fluctuate from low to high. The stronger and more evenly you swing, the more you swing.

This game, in addition to being sporty, training and entertaining, is also an opportunity for boys and girls to interact, get close and confess their love to each other, especially during village festivals and spring occasions.about.

  • Crossbow shooting

Crossbows are made of good wood, crossbow strings are often made of silk bark of a supple and elastic forest tree. Arrows made of bamboo. People often carry crossbows when going to the forest to hunt animals, so the elderly and young ethnic minorities are very proficient in crossbow shooting.

Crossbow shooting is a game that represents the martial arts tradition of ethnic minorities and is enjoyed by many young men and women. Therefore, in ethnic sports, crossbow shooting is included as an official competition.
